The Warrior GMR Foundation was created with a singular vision: to unite gamers and military veterans in a purpose-driven community that fosters understanding, mental resilience, and mutual growth. Our platform bridges the gap between veterans and gaming through impactful in-person and online events that promote camaraderie and meaningful connections.
A key milestone in our journey was the most recent Warrior GMR Mental Health and Gaming Summit, hosted at Howard University, where the Secretary of Veterans Affairs joined us to speak about the critical importance of mental health for veterans. Additionally, our Discord community has become a central hub for ongoing dialogue, mentorship, and support, offering veterans a space to share experiences and build lasting connections. Every event and interaction within our ecosystem strengthens the mental well-being and unity of the community we serve.
Our Mission At the Warrior GMR Foundation, our mission is to empower veterans by fostering resilience, purpose, and connection through community-driven programs that aim to support 100,000 veterans by the end of 2028. We leverage the power of gaming and mentorship to address the challenges veterans face after transitioning to civilian life, creating spaces where they can thrive.
Community Events Our gaming tournaments, leagues, and community gatherings—both online and in-person—create meaningful connections and lasting bonds among veterans, youth, and allies. These events include the 2025 Veterans Day Invitational, a flagship gaming event designed to unite veterans through shared experiences and camaraderie.
Mental & Physical Health We integrate mental health discussions and physical wellness into our programs to encourage positive habits and promote well-being. The 2025 Mental Health and Gaming Summit, held at Ft. Belvoir at the National Museum of the United States Army on September 27-28, will explore the intersection of gaming and mental health, providing an impactful platform for sponsors and participants to drive meaningful change.
Community & Mentorship Our community programs foster mentorship between veterans and younger gamers, creating opportunities for veterans to share life experiences and for younger participants to offer fresh perspectives. These connections are strengthened through our Discord community and Veteran Resilience Support System (VRSS), which we are scaling in 2025 to provide more peer-to-peer support and reduce isolation.
Leadership & Resilience Training We use gaming as a powerful tool to teach essential life skills like leadership, resilience, and teamwork. Operation Sentinel, a pioneering initiative continuing in 2025, provides veterans with immersive experiences that promote resilience and reduce isolation. Sponsors have a unique opportunity to support this innovative program and make a direct impact on veterans' well-being.
National Security Summit The 2025 National Security Summit, featuring General Joseph L. Votel as keynote speaker, will bring together military leaders, veterans, and industry experts to address critical issues in national security and resilience. This event provides a platform to explore solutions for transitioning veterans, highlight the importance of resilience, and create pathways for veterans to thrive in civilian life.
By the end of 2025, the Warrior GMR Foundation aims to transform the gaming community into a dynamic space for holistic support and growth. Through community-building, mentorship, and innovative programs, we are empowering veterans to lead healthier, more connected lives.
To provide veterans with the resources, community, and resilience-building tools they need to overcome isolation and thrive in civilian life. By creating supportive spaces and offering impactful programs, we aim to reduce veteran suicide and build stronger, more connected communities.
We envision a future where every veteran has access to the support, belonging, and purpose they deserve. Through community-focused initiatives, we strive to help veterans lead fulfilling, connected lives beyond their service.
